Hi, my name is Jessie and I’m an addict. I’m in Camden Town, London, England and felt the real need to connect with other addicts. I’m struggling and reading all you guys shares has helped me feel less alone. It’s 1.30 in the morning and I’m here with a special friend that I met in Clouds House (A primary rehab) last year. The last two years infact have been probably the hardest 2 years of my life. I relapsed April 2007 after 10 years 8 months recovery (total abstinence) I’m going to leave it there for now in the hope that someone shares back to me. Please connect. Thanks Jessie

I was looking for a 10 year medallion with the number 10 on it, not the Roman Numeral X. Can anyone find me one? Thank you.

Hi, I’m Ron. Seven years clean. It’s an old adage—-if I can do it, you can do it. When I first started NA I KNEW, absolutely knew I couldn not or would not be able to quit. I absolutely said to myself,—-“I know I can’t stop.” Well, this program has stopped me for 7 years now and it makes my life better every day. Sure there’s still the usual bumps in the road, but I handle much, much better now! Another old adage—-one day at a time. Maybe too overlooked——you need to forget the past, don’t fear the future, and live that one day at a time. The urge wears off little by little—it ain’t easy but you have to work at it.

Kacey, Check the meeting schedule and get to a noon meeting or call the hotline and talk to someone who has been where you are now. Sound like you are admitting you have a problem and that’s the first step. NA worked for me and I know it can work for you.

This is my first time here and I have a question…if I started my addiction with alcohol but ended with drugs, which program do i belong to? Is NA only for those who have not had a problem with alcohol – only drugs?

our basic text says that before coming to the fellowship of na many of us viewed alcohol as diffirent from other drugs but we can not afford to be confused about this:alcohol is a drug.
as far as affordable programs “narcotics anonymous” is free of charge.

I can’t do anything other than- 1)think about how much I’d like some powder up my nose and bud to smoke. 2)think about how I want to go to a sort of rehab but at the same time wanting to let my loved ones know how bad it’s gotten(They would stress cause we’re broke). and 3)thinking of going to an NA meeting, I never have before.

Hi. I kind of, I guess you would say that, I do have a very rather serious problem with narcotics. I have a lot of questions, and Im afraid of going to an NA meeting, bc I have no idea what will be expected of me. I need to find a meeting place in the Fresno area. Im still quite young, and I am indescribably frightened…

I am an addict named chris from SVGNA.
If you are new give yourself a brake and give Narcotics Annymous a chance. We have one promise and that is Freedom from active addiction. We have one message, that an addict, ANY ADDICT, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live. My clean date is December 1, 2007. When I arrived to my first NA meeting I had no intention of staying clean. To make a long story short, I was at a speaker meeting in Modesto, I had about 60 days clean and this speaker shared about a lot of things I’ve been through. That motivated me to get a sponsor and work the steps. So if your new Welcome Home!! I invite you to just stay, you never have to use again, get a sponsor, work the 12 steps and apply the principles to your life, attend meetings regularly, AND HAVE FUN IN RECOVERY
